A most unusual piece for this company as Heath & Middleton are primarily associated with producing designs by Dr Christopher Dresser or items with a heavy Dresser influence. Also it is unusual to find hand-made pieces by this firm. Another interesting aspect of the work is that the main body of the box is held together with silver rivets. Most manufacturers at time tended to use faux rivets to give an Arts & Crafts feel to an item. |
